Speaking of icontests, here is something that ANNOYS THE LIVING HELL OUT OF ME:

So there you are, browsing around for some new icons. Oh man, there are some pretty good looking posts, yaaay, you're so happy. You click on the cut/link only to find that oh, you have to join/watch/befriend/what the fuck ever the person's journal or comm before you can see them. Ooh, but maybe if you're lucky the post will be public for a few days! Golly!

Excuse, me, but what? I can't imagine that icon theft is such a huuuuge problem that people need to have all their entries friends only. And even if it is? Big deal. You can message the person who's taking your credit and that should be that. It's not like anyone is losing money or something. What I get from it is, 'Ooooh, I should make people friend me to see my shit, because it is so extra super good and special, and I want that huge number of watchers on my profile11!!!1' You know, because, other people really pay attention to that. What other reason is there? I don't fucking care how many watchers/members you have. It doesn't make me think any more or less of you. I just want to see your icons ;_; Why must you make me friend you in order to do so?? BASICALLY I WANT TO PUNCH EVERYONE I SEE DO THIS IN THE FACE. AAAARGHHHH.

3. Do you want to punch me 'cause I do it? I do it 'cause of what you said, I don't want people stealing my icons without credit. It bothers the living daylight out of me that I worked hard and people aren't crediting and it goes around without credit or the wrong credit! lol Sorry.

Noooo, I would never like to punch you in the face, because I know that you are awesome. It just bothers me in general when I just want to browse icons and almost every post is locked D<
And you can tell that most people aren't doing it because they don't get credited, but because they like having a bazillion watchers for some reason.

Yes! Go find one. The ONE thing I must ask of you is that the picture you select, the person in the picture isn't looking into the camera. It's really hard for me to work with a picture when the person is looking at you! I know I'm weird. >.<

Same here! I always close the door for the bathroom and always change my clothes in the bathroom. It feels weird when pictures are looking at you.

Aww! I was going to make it all pink and girl, with hearts and flowers and the text pink with it saying pretty in pink. lol

I agree with you. What's funny is that most of the people I've seen do that... actually have loads of shit icons behind their locked entries. They entice you with the few nice-looking ones they have ;_;

From my own experience, people who post icon batches make their entries friends-only without meaning to, and I comment to let them know that it should be public for everyone to see.

There was one incident where a certain user planned on making their icon batch friends-only after three days of public viewing. Whut.
